"Spoke Art is proud to present Quentin vs. Coen – An art show tribute to the films of Tarantino and the Coen Brothers. Over 60 artists were invited to reinterpret their favorite scenes, characters and films from the prolific directors, resulting in an eclectic showing of inspirational fine art. Showcasing a plethora of original works from painting and sculpture to limited edition screen prints and digital works, Quentin vs Coen demonstrates a wide range of mediums and practices.

Playing upon the already highly stylised vision of these directors, Quentin vs Coen pays homage and re-imagines these momentous post-modern genre makers. Although Tarantino and the Coen brothers differ heavily in their directorial styles, artistically they both have an aptitude for overlapping themes. Both gravitate towards potent, film-defining soundtracks, both fabricate their own versions of neo-noir dark humour."

I love being a part of Spoke Arts themed group shows, they are always so fun! Tarantino is one of my favourite directors ever since I discovered Pulp Fiction, hence I've created 'Uma' for the Quentin Vs. Coen show, inspired by the character Mia Wallace and the colours of the Pulp Fiction movie poster.

The exhibition opens on Saturday 5 July, from 6pm – 10pm at Spoke Art Gallery, 816 Sutter Street, San Francisco. There is no cover charge, complimentary beverages will be served and some artists will be in attendance. The exhibition will be on view until 26 July.

I was thrilled to be a part of the 'Wilderness' International Group Show at Auguste Clown Gallery in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia - 20 June - 7 July.

I created 'Hunter Gatherer', inspired by our instinctual natures as women and men, the piece measures 35 x 47 cm.

I began with a white sheet of Pastelmat paper and stained it with a watered down acrylic, if the background application is too thick, it fills in the velour texture of the pastel mat, making it difficult to adhere pastel. The rest has been done with PanPastels and then pencil and pastel pencils to refine and add more detail. Hope you like!

"As civilisation continues to spread to the far reaches of the globe, humanity is inexplicably drawn to the uninhabited landscape that has become so rare. A place of solitude, freedom and escape, the wilderness is an opportunity to leave modern society behind and re-define our sense of being.

Each of the participating artists in this exhibition finds their own personal vision and connection to the wilderness. The result is a group show that takes us into the depths of the unknown to see life in its raw and natural state."
